“It’s not anime”
The Button is a speed dating show where two singles get to meet and within a few moments, the button between them lights up red to signal whether or night they are feeling the spark. The first single to press the button gets to stay and wait for another suitor while the other one has to leave. A pretty neat thing about this is that if two people can last for 10 minutes on a single date, they get to win an all-expenses-paid second date.
This speed dating game that helps you pinpoint what’s your type, is brutal because you will see that even if you have a great personality. Someone may not enjoy your shirt or movie preference. Let’s take a look at this full video and watch as people’s hearts get decimated by some random stranger
Speed Date 1
Donny happens to be a Marvel enthusiast who also has a dog named Marvel, if that isn’t loyalty then I don’t know what it is. When the button asks Maria if she is into Marvel, she said, and I quote “I just can’t get into anime”.
Honestly, she was very polite trying to not act out about it being too sci-techish. Admittedly, she kind of gave him the “you’ve got to be kidding me” gaze as he explained the dynamics of Marvel in its completely glorious form.
The result of this date is that Maria got buzzed out

Maria enters the Date Prospects Room (really no idea what this room is actually called so let’s just go with it) and tells the other girls she got buzzed because she didn’t know what Marvel is…I mean…Can you blame Donny?
Speed Date 2
Donny’s second date called Mia was a competitive figure skater for ten years. Mia states that she lives near an ice rink that produces Olympians every single year. This surely caught him by delightful surprise because there’s been a snow fight scene in the Avengers right….right?? Wait that was an airport.
Mia has actually consumed Marvel movies but not in their entirety as it seems like such a hectic task to complete. The most heartbreaking thing is as Donny tells her who his favorite Marvel character is, she buzzes him out and says “you’re” absolutely lovely. That statement felt like a scrape to the knee if you ask me. But to his credit, Donny took it to the chin like a champ…or like Thanos.

When Donny gets to the DPR he is greeted by cheers from the guys and that’s a bit confusing because it means that he got buzzed out. Cheering at someone’s pain is…daunting
Speed Date 3
The name similarities in this game are pretty eerie because the next contestant to pop up is called…wait for it…Don! He seems pretty “chill” and friendly. Mia and Don both have dogs but it wasn’t meant to be.
Don in the most polite manner ever, mentions that she is not his type but he’s more into people of his own specific race for cultural compatibility reasons. Which Mia affirms as valid and takes the buzz like a champ.
Speed Date 4
Don meets Sam who is in her cosplay outfit. Our team unfortunately doesn’t follow cosplay or LARPing so we can’t be specific about which character she is dressed up as. Sam has been cosplaying for ten years. Alas, Don states that he doesn’t find her attractive.
Don is consistently honest without being hurtful or condescending, which goes to show that he is very compassionate toward others and this is something that is usually taught in the household. Well done Done, you little heart breaker you
