“Do you treat her like a sidechick?”
Background (The Couple)
In this case unrequited love, Judges Keith and Dana Cutler examine Ms. Hyler and Mr. Butler. These two have been together for five years and married for two. This lovely couple met together when Ms. Hyler was placing her mother in a nursing home.
The Problem
Lisa Hyler feels that her husband is treating her as the kids would say; a side chick / a sneaky link or a mistress for legacy language models. She feels frustrated on account that her husband doesn’t immediately answer her calls and that they always go right to voicemail depending on who is around him. This is a valid point that he does need to answer the phone because you may never know if it could be an emergency or not
Mr Butler, who seems to be very nonchalant about the whole situation gets asked if he treats her like a side chick to which he replies “I treat her accordingly”. This obviously doesn’t sit well with anyone in the court. If you look at every audience member’s reaction to the mentioned statement you definitely have a bit of a laugh.
He is almost immediately vindicated from his reply after he mentions that he is being outside of his house 3 times a week. However, not long after that,he denies that his vows do not contain the sentence “in sickness and in health” or “better and for worse” but rather “treat them like supposed”. Which if you take it from the context, means, treat them how they treat you.
This could actually just be Mr Butler being playful
The Signs
Now, everyone knows and has witnessed red flags long before trouble begins. Ms. Hyler was alerted at the courthouse by one of the clerks to rather not get married to Mr Butler as yet because he did not seem to be ready for marriage because he was cracking jokes the entire time. That was the kindest thing the clerk could have done for Hyler at that point
Folks , in the words of Stan the Man from American Dad would say. “Marriage is hard son, you gotta learn to tune out the bs”.
I recommend taking a look at the first part of that quote because marriage isn’t easy. Marriage requires that both parties be heard and appreciated, whereas in this case… Ms. Hyler does not feel heard or appreciated
The Ultimatum
Ms Hyler has had it up to here(pointing at my neck) with the current state of affairs between her and Mr Butler that she has introduced an ultimatum which will be put into action after receiveing the results of a polygraph exam that Mr Butler was aksed to take.Divorce is now on the table and.
How not to get divorced
After watching the video or even before watching it you may want to take these few pointers in regard to marriage and avoiding divorce. Here’s what we learned.
Take your spouses feelings into consideration.
Being considerate to your partner’s emotional and mental state is one factor one should never remember because households have ended because of how someone has said something.
There’s a time for everything
Charles seems to be very much a joker which unfortunately causes him to be inappropriate during serious situations. Honestly it is not that terrible of a characteristic, however humor can’t really be used in every setting
Don’t try marry someone new before divorcing your previous spouse
This is a no brainer, if you want a polygamous household then all of your partners should be aware of it and not just you. People are not pokemons you shouldn’t be trying to catch ’em all.
Get off of the dating websites when you get married
Your partners single friends will very likely be on those, don’t do it , you’re not a Nike sweater.
