“friends split the bill”

On the 3rd of April 2018. A man in Indiana sent a former date an invoice for a date they went on for what we believe to be her half of the expense. She stated that she believes the invoice was on account of her not replying to his texts after the date. Many are probably willing to say that the City Boys are up after this. In this full video, we take a look at two actors simulating a similar situation in public just to see what others would do when stumbling on a scene such as this. 

It must be noted that these are actors and the video is a social experiment. The only people in on it are the two actors, the establishment, and you after reading this. Everyone else around them was clueless before the presenter came out

Scenario 1

At the end of the date, James tries to arrange plans with his date Sarah to meet up again on the following date to spend a bit more time. However, Sarah is reluctant to see him again and quite pleasantly tells him that she didn’t feel the spark and thus puts down his proposal to meet up again.

Here’s the twist, as she tells him that she should probably get going, he tells her that it’s totally fine as long as she is willing to pay her half of the bill. Of course, there is a bit of protest that erupts from her as Sarah probably wasn’t prepared to do so.

James informs her that he’s going to the bathroom real quick and is asked by the presenter to tell her to take her wallet out. That almost sounded like one of those things you encounter if you walk in an alley in the evening and all of a sudden hear “your money or your life”..I digress.

After James leaves, a bystander starts talking with Sarah and advising her to leave because he has already paid and that. 

Scenario 2

This time there is a switch, Sarah is the one who heads out to the bathroom before the date is over. James strikes up a conversation with a man sitting next him. The unthinkable happens. 

The man starts to give James some dating advice and informs him to be vigilant to not become a free meal ticket for his date because he himself has been used in that manner on many occasions. The man seems to be in his fourties suggesting that he has had a lot of those experiences.

As Sarah returns and James asks for the check. Sarah tells her date that she had a wonderful time but then doesn’t see it going further than that date. To which James replies “Oh, so you wanted a free meal” that has got to be the most relentless reply I’ve ever heard in my life. It looks like he took his new friends advice and immediately put it into action.

After a few moments she tells him that they should just be friends. Without any delay, James agrees with her and also states that “friends split the bill”. This is hilarious because she ends up frustrated and one can’t help but think..”why go to the bathroom…again”. In such situations your date could be exiting the restaurant through the bathroom window.

Final Thoughts

All of these are crearly indicative of how everyone has a different mindset regarding splitting the bill. That is way as of late many men opt for McDonalds kind of dates or coffee date because it allows them to figure out if there is any chemistry and to avoid the awkward, let’s split the cheque bestie
