“Well, child support for what?
The City Boys Up video is one of those very memorable videos which has been quite steadily growing in popularity since its inception in 2022. The title “Mother ordered to pay $2500 child support”, of course appeals to a certain demographic of people. The snippets are amazing but it isn’t till you witness the full video that you realize that there are always two sides to a story.
Although these are re-enactments, the lessons learned in this video are essential for survival in the world of romance and an essential kit in understanding the need to be with a partner whose ideals line up with yours.
Background of the couple
Mr. Williams (petitioner), a young musician, and Ms. Johnson (respondent), a young exotic dancer. Met at a club where Mr. Williams was performing, and they have been together for approximately a decade. You know, this is kind of beautiful I believe there is a couple in the entertainment industry that have a similar background. One is a rapper and the other is a former exotic dancer, it is just insanely beautiful how life just circles around.
Mr. Williams and Ms. Johnson currently have two children together aged five and eight. He’s asking the court for child support because he claims that he is the primary parent who takes care of all of the children’s needs most of the time while she only sees them twice a week and is quite inactive in their day-to-day lives
The Problem
Their relationship hit a rough patch and have stopped living together for approximately three years. The children have been living with the petitioner most of the time. Mr. Williams claims that his former partner is never around to take care of their children and that she only comes to visit them twice a week and takes them to the park and they are being fed Happy Meals.
He mentions that he is the only one that is very involved in his children’s lives and they have revealed that they are getting harassed in school because the respondent is an exotic dancer…did not see that one coming.
The respondent immediately states that the kids are being brainwashed by him and that his claims are all false. She mentions that the only reason that they are in the courtroom is that Mr. Williams might have an alternative reason for taking her to court. He allegedly brought him to court, because she does not want to be involved in a relationship with him any longer.
Although the respondent is generating roughly $180K annually. She doesn’t contribute to their children’s well-being when they are in the care of Mr. Williams. However, when they are with her, she gets them what they need…in two days.
With $180K in the bank every year, Ms. Johnson has failed to put the kids on health insurance. She argues that the profession which she is in doesn’t offer health insurance. Which, to her dismay fell to the floor because the Judge mentioned that she could technically be considered an independent contractor. This means that she would be able to get private health insurance.
She states that she “can’t imagine giving this man any amount of money that…” she works hard for. Well, I believe right at this present moment she understands the plight of men that pay alimony or child support. She became an honorary dad at that point.
The Resolution
Ms. Johnson ended up having to pay $2.5K in child support. This was calculated based on her income and also the various activities that the children take part in (one of them is involved in cheerleading after school)
